CEIC's research is supported by core funding from the Electric Power Research Institute.
CEIC’s research in the past few years has been focused on the following areas:
- Renewable electric power
- Demand response and energy efficiency
- Electric energy storage
- Behavior and energy
- Carbon capture and sequestration
- Vehicle electrification
- Reliability and security of the electric power system
Other recent research topics have included criteria pollutant control, markets and restructuring, nuclear electric power generation, technology learning, transmission, water and energy, and energy forecasting.
CEIC’s research has been funded by federal and state government agencies (43%), industry (32%), and foundations (25%).
